LOW-COST carrier Bahrain Air has launched a unique customer rewards programme offering travellers the chance to claim free flights simply by presenting boarding passes. The straightforward and transparent scheme requires passengers to retain their used boarding card stubs and present them at a Bahrain Air sales outlet to redeem a free ticket to any destination that the carrier serves – seven boarding passes are required for a one-way ticket and 11 for a return. Richard Nuttall, director of commercial operations, said: 'This scheme is the beginning of many customer-oriented programmes that we will be introducing in the near future. We came up with this scheme to show our loyal customers and frequent flyers that we appreciate their choice in flying with us as their first option. This loyalty scheme is very simple; the passenger gives us a certain number of boarding passes and in return, he instantly gets a free ticket to any Bahrain Air destination.' The free economy or business class ticket will be determined according to the passenger’s prior class of travel. Currently this offer is valid for passengers originating out of Bahrain (Bahrain residents) only and can be redeemed at the company’s sales outlets in Bahrain. And, with the aim of consolidating its UAE presence, the low-cost carrier has opened a new regional sales office in Dubai. Hanif Zakaria regional sales manager, Gulf and Saudi Arabia, said: 'Our vision is to consolidate our presence in the UAE and concentrate on the Mena region. 'Dubai is one of the busiest routes in our network across the year. Having a second office downtown will enhance our distribution and visibility in the vibrant and versatile market and also gives our valued customers easier access to do business with us.' The company operates on a hybrid airline business model as a premium value carrier and it is fast growing currently serving 18 destinations including two flights per day between Bahrain and Dubai.
