Two firms tap Galileo's online travel solutions

As a provider of leading-edge solutions to the global travel marketplace, Galileo International has recently helped two leading firms to take advantage of the opportunities provided by conducting business online.

Utilising Galileo's leading API (Application Protocol Interface) solution XML Select, MSN Arabia and leading UAE business travel management company Airlink International have recently launched online initiatives.

MSN Arabia's MSN Arabia Travel Channel is an online `travel agent' that allows travellers to track down the most competitive deals available in nine Gulf countries, via the Internet, including Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE.

This online travel portal's sophisticated booking technology was developed using Galileo's XML Select API solution.

The MSN Arabia Travel Channel is sponsored by the Emirates Group, which is exclusively responsible for its management and content.

In addition, Galileo's distribution partner in the UAE, Galileo Emirates, utilises XML Select to connect its online travel portal, SafarEZ.com, with the Galileo(c) system. This in turn allows SafarEZ.com to offer clients the opportunity to launch their own online travel portals, connected in real-time to Galileo.

Airlink international has become the first travel agency to take advantage of internet booking facility. Airiink Online, via SafarEZ.com, now has access to more than 500 airlines, 40 car rental suppliers, 47,000 hotel properties, 360 tour operators, and all the leading cruise line companies.
