TRAVELPORT, one of the world’s leading global distribution system (GDS) providers and operator of both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms, recently hosted a product showcase for travel agents in Lebanon.

In Beirut more than 60 agents took part in the two day programme, which helped raise awareness of the GDS provider’s wide range of solutions, including advanced functionalities which can help agencies increase their efficiency and earn new revenue streams through the GDS.

"Apart from the benefits that the traditional GDS platform offers, Travelport has a plethora of innovative solutions that can help travel agencies significantly streamline their operations," said Rabih Saab, vice-president of Travelport GDS. "This showcase was a great opportunity to get even closer to our agency customers and ensure that they have the tools they need to run successful businesses."

Five workshop sessions were conducted each day to highlight the salient features of key products currently being rolled out across the region, including Journey Reporter, a real-time passenger tracking solution; e-Tracker, a web-based e-ticket tracking tool, and Fee Manager, a flexible revenue management product.

The agents also had a preview of Travelport’s future product strategy, including the upcoming Travelport Universal Desktop, a new generation platform set to reinvent the GDS, and a demonstration of e-Pricing, the industry leading shopping solution for air fares.

"Our focus is to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty by offering enhanced services as well as new and innovative technology. We look forward to delivering the very best to our customers in Lebanon, and will continue to provide them with products that will drive their future success," said Najwa Tarabah, operational head of Travelport-Lebanon.
