AJMAN’S natural and culture offerings continued to draw in visitors despite the downturn, according to Ulrich Eckhardt, managing director, Kempinski Hotel Ajman.
“The current economic situation is affecting all fields and industries globally. We look at this as an exciting challenge to keep striving and succeeding.” He said that visitor numbers for the year ahead were difficult to predict, but they were currently receiving many last minute requests and bookings. These visitors included Middle Eastern guests (weekend breaks were particularly popular among this sector), along with guests from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, UK and Russia/CIS.
He added that as with every new season and quarter the Kempinski Ajman team was currently planning new accommodation deals which would be announced shortly.
He said that at this stage there were no further developments in the UAE for Kempinski, but that all recently announced projects were still going ahead as planned.
Developments in Ajman continue with the second phase of the four star Golden Tulip due to be completed in the first quarter of 2010 with 468 rooms. The 243 room five star Mövenpick Resort Ajman will also come online in 2011.
Latest developments at the five star Kempinski Hotel Ajman include the recently announced completion of renovations to its royal suite. This follows the refurbishment of 44 leisure club rooms in 2006, and the remodelling of 59 executive club rooms and suites and the main corridors in 2007.
“In this travel savvy generation guests are looking for more emotive and experiential holidays. This arising trend paves the way for the evolution of the hotel industry and allows us to provide accommodation solutions that encompass the very best in design, amenities and on-demand services,” said Eckhardt.
“The entire atmosphere of the suite now reflects Kempinski true style, that of sophistication and lavish comfort.” Located on the eighth floor of the main building, the royal suite features a bedroom with views over the Arabian Gulf, a living room decked with a panoramic terrace and an equipped kitchen leading into a dining room which can accommodate up to six guests. A stay within the royal suite includes a private butler service, DVD and LCD television and exclusive designer toiletries.
The Kempinski Ajman caters for both leisure and corporate guests and offers a range of facilities including spa, honeymoon, weekend and holiday packages, indoor and outdoor meetings facilities, a ballroom catering for a maximum of 1,200 guests and a dedicated meetings concierge.
