The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris has created a beauty package using 24 carat gold in its skin treatments aimed at rejuvenating and providing a luminescent effect to the skin.
The ‘24 karat’ package starts with a one hour four hand body treatment and facial including an exfoliation and massage. The body massage oil is mixed with particles of gold while three thin sheets of 24 carat gold are placed on the face and then massaged into the skin. A golden glow envelops the body and gives the skin a sensual luxurious radiance.
The spa quotes the metal’s benefits go well beyond an overall healthful appearance—it also has an anti-aging effect due to its regenerating ingredients, as the gold absorbed by the skin stimulates cell growth and minimises the appearance of wrinkles.
During the second hour, guests enjoy a moisturising hair treatment to help improve the hair’s vitality and radiance, followed by a blow dry.
The package concludes with a tasting of ‘green tea wrapped into 24ct golden leaves’ from the French tea house Mariage Frères along with a homemade macaroon topped with gold that guests may enjoy while luxuriating in the spa lounge.
The two hour package is available for $608. Guests can further enhance the treatment with an additional 30 minute makeup session which uses 24 carat golden dust powder for a total price of $735.
