THE world’s only Hermès inspired hand built Rolls Royce Phantom is now available to guests of the Four Seasons Hotel George V.  Custom made to the hotel’s specifications by the famous English luxury car designer in collaboration with legendary French fashion house, Hermès, the partnership has resulted in an automobile that combines elegance, power and comfort. Five drivers have been appointed by the hotel and specially trained by Rolls Royce to operate the car.
“The Hotel’s goal in commissioning two of the world’s most talented makers of luxury goods to collaborate on the project was to create an experience that is unsurpassed for our guests in Paris,” said Christopher Norton, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel George V.
“This personalised Rolls Royce Phantom represents a marriage of like minded brands that are single mindedly focused on the very highest of standards and quality.”
The project, which began in late 2007, came under the direction of the hotel’s in house artistic director, Jeff Leatham, who chose the colour theme of the vehicle to match the hotel’s personality. The team at Hermès Intérieur & Design conceived and created customised upholstery and accessories to make its mark on the Rolls Royce.
Adding a romantic touch to the interior is a “starlight headliner”: a canopy consisting of 800 lights on the automobile’s roof liner, for guests in the backseat to enjoy as they are driven into Paris.
“As it is the hotel’s 80th anniversary this year, it is fitting to introduce an experience that is unique in the world, only available at Four Seasons George V,” said Norton.
Representatives of the Paris hotel followed the progress of the car every step of the way - from the Rolls Royce warehouse in Goodwood, England to the French crafts people at Hermès in Pantin, France. While the car was being hand built in Goodwood, 39 of its interior duplicate parts, including the door handles, the steering wheel and all interior consoles, were shipped to France.
The Rolls Royce is available for airport pick up, day trips or business in Paris, and can be booked through the concierge desk or reservations office, and is exclusively for hotel guests. Day trip: from $5,138; airport pick up: $1,015.
