Astronaut Brian Binnie and Max Hitchins ‘The Hospitality Doctor’ are among the guest speakers at the 5th annual Orion Congress to be held on October 11 at Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah.

Orion Hotel Schools is a global alliance of leading hotel schools around the world, and the congress is open to all tourism professionals and students.

“Each year we bring together the world’s leading industry professionals, academics and educators to share opinions and knowledge at the congress. We are delighted to have secured high calibre speakers for the event which definitely adds value for all participants,” said Adam Sargeant, regional manager, Orion Hotel Schools.

“We anticipate the segment ‘What’s New in Resourcing’ will be of much interest to the hoteliers of Dubai.  Staffing is the hot topic on everyone’s lips.  Where will we find the staff for all the planned hotel projects, not only in Dubai but also throughout the world?”

“In addition, we have created a unique ‘speed dating’ exercise at morning and afternoon tea breaks whereby the hoteliers and recruiters can meet the hotel schools of the world,” he added.

There is a strong representation from Dubai including Marc Dardenne, CEO of Emaar Hotels and Resorts and Suresh Menon, senior vice president, Atlantis The Palm. An Orion Hotel School is planned to open in early 2009 in Dubai. The congress is open to all tourism professionals ($390 per person) and students ($200 per full time student) who can register online at www.whatsnextinhospitality.com
