Atmosphere Core has unveiled plans for its tenth property in the Maldives, introducing ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru, An Atmosphere Hotel, slated to welcome guests in March 2027.
Positioned within the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts portfolio, the 118-villa island resort debuts the operator's new ONE BANYAN co-branded collection, conceived to give individual properties independent design identities while leveraging the group’s established distribution and commercial framework.
Located in Kaafu Atoll, the private island retreat is positioned for quick trade transit, situated a 45-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. The resort name pairs cultural and geographic elements: amaraa, derived from Sanskrit for eternity or immortality, and faru, the Dhivehi word for reef.
Addressing evolving guest demographics, the property moves away from rigid formality in favour of tailored, experiential luxury.
"As demand for the Maldives continues to grow and diversify, we are seeing travellers seek stays that are luxurious yet tailored to their individual needs, and purchasing decisions increasingly shaped by the quality of experiences rather than amenities and services alone," said Salil Panigrahi, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Atmosphere Core. "With Amaraa Faru, we bring our brand ethos of ‘A New Experience Awaits’ to life, while also responding to this evolving demand. At this resort, guests can look forward to a lavish yet grounded sophistication inspired by the natural rhythm, culture and people of the islands."
The commercial offer is anchored by the group’s signature comprehensive Holiday Plan, an all-inclusive framework integrating gourmet dining, wellness journeys, guided reef snorkelling, and non-motorised water sports into the base rate to simplify packaging for travel advisors.
The resort's master plan pairs traditional craftsmanship with contemporary lines, reinterpreting local coconut and palm-fibre weaving through an Art Deco lens and soft palettes of crème and island green.
Accommodation across the private island encompasses 118 pool villas configured in both beachfront and overwater layouts.
These range from 100-square-metre standard beach units to 117-square-metre overwater retreats and expansive 164-square-metre family beach villas, each designed with private plunge pools and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions.
The culinary offering is anchored by an international all-day dining venue and a central pool bar, complemented by two distinctive speciality concepts that introduce vibrant Argentinian grilling and an overwater Japanese dining experience.
For leisure and restorative pursuits, the resort features an ELE|NA Ayur wellness complex complete with overwater treatment suites, a 40-square-metre saltwater pool, and thermal facilities.
An ocean-facing fitness centre, a comprehensive dive and watersports hub, an expansive kids’ club, and a promenade-style retail boutique round out the island amenities.
Amaraa Faru integrates clean technologies into its island infrastructure, utilising solar power arrays, comprehensive water conservation systems, and an in-house glass water-bottling plant to eliminate single-use plastics.
The announcement marks a key milestone in Atmosphere Core’s broader strategy. Since launching in 2013, the group has developed nine operational resorts in the Maldives across THE OZEN COLLECTION, COLOURS OF OBLU, and Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, alongside operational heritage properties in India and Italy. Its development pipeline now spans over 20 upcoming assets across South Asia and Europe.
