Last year’s IGTM

INTERNATIONAL Golf Travel Market (IGTM) 2008 taking place in Andalucيa, Spain from November 17 to 20 is almost 100 per cent sold out. Now in its 11th year, IGTM works closely with its show partners to bring together specialist golf tour operators, incentive travel agents, meetings and conference organisers with over 400 exhibitors.
The exhibitor portfolio consists of leading hotels, resorts, golf courses, airlines, and suppliers of golf related products, involving representation from more than 45 countries including Europe, North America, South, America, Asia, Australasia, Middle East and Africa.
The host destination will be showcasing top hotels and courses from the region and others including Valencia, the Canaries, Catalunya and Murcia, which are all expanding their presence this year.
Portuguese participation is strong with representation from the Algarve and Lisbon golf coast, while the UK will be presenting exhibitors from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England’s golf coast in the north west.
Nine Italian regions take part this year, and Turkey will be showcasing 15 resorts. The Egyptians have also confirmed their attendance with an expected group of 10 resorts taking part.
New destinations showcasing this year include Poland, Hungary and Slovenia reflecting the fast growth of the sport in Central and Eastern Europe.
Mark Walsh, group exhibition director of the event said, “The global representation featuring at this year’s International Golf Travel Market makes it the most geographically compre-hensive show to date, highlighting the global appeal the event has for the international golf travel sector.
Over 4,000 appointments were conducted in Cancun at IGTM in 2007 and we are anticipating Andalucيa in 2008 to be bigger and better than ever before.”
Not only is space limited on the show floor for exhibitors but the allocation of hosted places for both golf buyers and press is fast selling out. IAGTO buyers receive four nights complimentary accommodation at one of the official hotels as well as free attendance at the IGTM Golf Tournament.
Potential buyers and exhibitors wishing to attend International Golf Travel Market are urged to contact the IGTM team with their interest as soon as possible.
Reed Exhibitions is the event organiser; its portfolio extends over 460 events serving 52 industry sectors. Working closely with professional bodies, trade associations and government departments the exhibitions company ensures that each and every event is targeted and relevant to industry needs.
