ROTANA and Gardenia Real Estate Investment recently announced a partnership agreement for the management of a five star hotel in Homs, Syria.
Gardenia Real Estate Investments’ vision was to expand beyond local markets in search of strategic regional investment opportunities, which is why it chose to partner with Rotana.
Commenting on the announcement, Mohammad Al Mortada Al Dandashi, chairman, Gardenia Real Estate Investment said, “The prospects of the Homs project will also benefit the people of Syria through the creation of hundreds of jobs. Gardenia Real Estate Investments is enthusiastic about developments in Homs and keen on taking an active role in shaping the outlook of tourism and helping rebuild a strong and solid economy in Damascus.”
The five star Gardenia Rotana will feature 285 rooms and suites, restaurants, meeting facilities and complete recreational areas including a Bodylines health and fitness club and a swimming pool. The hotel is located at the north western section of the city of Homs and is strategically situated on a hill 508 m above sea level overlooking the green fields and the old city of Homs.
Known for its major tourist attractions and historical sites, Homs is the largest in Syria (43,630 sq km). Its central location and size made it the third governorate in agriculture, trade and industry. Homs is distinguished from other Syrian governorates in its important strategic location. Homs is the only natural gateway from the Mediterranean coast to the interior.
“We are proud to have been chosen to manage this new spectacular five star property and our team is very excited about the opportunity to be in Homs for the first time. We are confident that we will introduce a new dimension of hospitality in the country. This new agreement is part of our strategic aim to have a property located in every key city in the Middle East and this goal is being steadily achieved through careful long-term planning and timely action,” said Selim El Zyr, president and CEO of Rotana.
Rotana currently manages a portfolio of 62 properties.
