The World Travel Market’s technology and online travel sector has proved to be the fastest selling, as well as one of the fastest growing areas at the London exhibition which takes place from November 10 to 13 at ExCeL London.
This section of the event has sold out three months ahead of deadline according to organisers. More than 60 per cent of this year’s technology and online travel exhibitors are repeat bookings with several exhibitors increasing their stand sizes.
As technology and online travel continues to progress at an astonishing pace, WTM aims to showcase all the latest developments in IT for travel businesses to help them maintain competitiveness. Following on the success of 2007, the ‘standing room only’ WTM technology seminar series from Genesys, held over two days this year on Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 November, will reveal the latest online tips for travel sites.
Fiona Jeffery, chairman of World Travel Market said, “Our dedicated area for technology and online travel exhibitors is full to bursting. It reflects how we have built a reputation for educating the industry on how to make the most of technology and about what is needed to stay ahead of the game. With an in depth series of conferences and seminars planned this year on new mobile developments and other IT advances, businesses will learn what will help them succeed online and on the move.”
Among those exhibiting are online marketing and search engine companies, e-business solution providers, online hotel reservation systems, tour operator and travel agent software solutions developers, and smartcard processing and telecoms service providers.
For the third consecutive year, E-Clear will be participating.
“This year E-Clear is presenting its solutions portfolio with the addition of the payment card industry data security standard (PCI DSS) certification, which is a widely accepted set of polices intended to optimise security and effectively safeguard merchants,” according to Costas Serafim of E-Clear.
The payments solution company offers large volume transaction organisations, one-stop shop credit and debit card acquiring, and processing solutions in high-security e-Commerce transactions.
“WTM is a must attend B2B exhibition that provides a unique opportunity for electronic payment specialists to mingle with senior travel industry executives, network and re-engage with existing clients and build relations with new leads. E-Clear has gained great benefits from attending the show in previous years as numerous deals have been concluded and business objectives achieved,” he said.
