Swiss International Airlines has recorded improved first-half results and increased seat load factors throughout the summer months of June, July and August in the UAE.

It has reported  eight per cent increase in seat load factor this summer compared to last year.
“Despite not increasing our carrier capacity, the year’s performance figures reflect remarkably well. Our summer sales figures in particular have improved over last year, due largely to our successful summer packages to Switzerland. Our partnership with Lufhansa has also positively increased summer travel to Europe through several codeshare flights,” said director - head of sales for Africa and the Middle East, SWISS, Felix Rodel.
“On a product level, we have completed the refurbishment of the economy class cabin on all flights, which will give our passengers more room and comfort. Our next focus will be the refurbishment of business class seats,” he added.
Worldwide, SWISS has maintained the favourable business performance it had achieved in 2006 through the first six months of the current year, achieving stronger seat load factors than other European airlines in the first-half period. The 78.8 per cent system-wide seat load factor for the period was a 1.1 per cent improvement on the first half of last year.
