The Kempinski Ishtar’s Ashur Pool

THE Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea is promoting itself as the perfect alternative to a chilly winter in warmer climes, with an inviting array of swimming pools.

Phase One of the new luxury Babylonian-style hotel opened on May 1 this year, offering a total of 117 rooms and suites located in villas scattered around the resort.  All feature a balcony or terrace and lovely views towards the Dead Sea.  The hotel's swimming pool wonderland has quickly become a major talking point amongst guests at this new five star resort.
Kempinski's flagship resort property, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar boasts a total of eight fresh water swimming pools including four infinity edged, a kid’s pool, a lazy river and two secluded pools, all with a choice of music from relaxing Lounge to classical Piano.
Akkad Pool is round in shape with a concave bottom and infinity edge, offering splendid views of the Dead Sea sunsets, after which the pool is lit up with “twinkle star” effects that mirror a night sky in the evening.
Ashur Pool is also infinity edged, merging seamlessly with the Dead Sea and excellent for energetic laps whilst enjoying unobstructed views of the magnificence of the Dead Sea.  Open until late hours, it offers the unique experience of swimming under the stars.
Families and those looking for a day packed with action and fun can enjoy the Lazy River, to include fountains and water jets and the corners to play hide-and-seek!
Two semi-private pools for those seeking seclusion and privacy are hidden away in between the olive trees and the bamboo palms.
A completely private pool and infinity edge outdoor Jacuzzi are available both at the Ishtar Royal Villa and the Anantara Spa.
All pools are conveniently located within a few steps from any room or suite yet offering stunning views of the Dead Sea; the ideal combination to relax and enjoy cool drinks, puffs from the good old aromatic water pipes or bites of Chef Jeffrey Vella’s delicacies.
If a choice of eight swimming pools is not enough, guests can also enjoy the longest private beach in Jordan where they can pamper their skin with  mineral-rich Dead Sea mud and bask in the ultra-violet filtered sunshine of the Dead Sea.
Duncan O’Rourke, general manager of the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea commented, “The hotel is a great place to come if you are a water baby and love to swim. With so many swimming pools and a large beach guests are spoilt for choice. We have employed a team of life guards to make sure that both adult and child guests are well looked after by the pools. We also have a recreation team who are on had to organise waterpolo, water volleyball and general swimming coaching. The greatest joy for our guests, however, is that with so many beautiful pools to choose from, there is always plenty of space for them to enjoy a peaceful swim."
The hotel offers secluded and luxurious enclaves of accommodation set amidst gardens dotted with lagoons, waterfalls and pools, where ancient olive trees mingle with bamboo palms, providing guests with absolute privacy in a serene and exclusive setting.
