AMONG the exhibiting companies at the Mediterranean Travel Fair will be Rotana Hotels, with its collection of four properties in Egypt.

“Taking into consideration the expansion of Rotana Hotels in Egypt and for the second year in a row, our resorts in Egypt will be exhibiting at the Mediterranean Travel Fair 2006, amongst a large number of International and local high profile companies,” says Samir Ibrahim, area vice-president, Rotana Egypt and general manager, Coral Beach Rotana Resort, Tiran.
Commenting on Rotana’s participation at the Mediterranean Travel Fair 2006, Ibrahim said, “Approximately 90 per cent of our guests in the resorts are Europeans with our main markets being Russia, Italy, UK, followed by Germany and Northern Europe. With the latest five-star Grand Rotana Resort & Spa we also anticipate an additional 10 per cent will come from local Egyptian and pan-Arab markets – the property is a five-star resort which is popular in these regions.”
Ergo, the company will focus on European travel operators at the event, many of whom it has contractual deals with. “MTF is one of the major exhibitions where we get the opportunities to meet all the international trade visitors. We will also pursue the European and pan-Arab incentive houses not only because Sharm El Sheikh is an attractive destination for this market but also because the Grand Rotana Resort & Spa is well equipped with meeting and banquet rooms making it a venue of choice for incentive groups.”
Ibrahim believes the Egypt Tourism Authority’s target of nine million tourists this year is not unachievable. “Egypt will only grow to attract new markets with the many developments taking place and the efforts invested for the promotion of the destination. We are very excited about this year’s MTF, during which Rotana Resorts Egypt will have a very prominent presence.”
Rotana operates four beach resorts in Egypt with approximately 1500 rooms ranging from four-star standards to a new five-star property.
Located in Sharm El Sheikh and in Hurghada, these properties offer well appointed rooms and suites with all the modern amenities, a clutch of truly international dining options and various recreations facilities to enjoy.
The Grand Rotana Resort & Spa, with a 450-metre stretch of private beach, has 448 rooms and suites, 45 Club Rotana executive rooms and suites and nine villas with four and five bedrooms each. These include rooms for people with special needs. Dining and entertainment options include Ramses, the hotel’s main restaurant, the lobby cigar lounge Isis, Italian outlet Mezzaluna, the Sky Lounge majlis, the East-West Silk Road, the Palms cocktail bar and party venue Pulse. A 10-room spa offers a variety of treatments.
A flexible and state of the art ballroom for 500 people along with three meeting rooms equipped with ultra-modern digital technology and cutting-edge audio and visual communications equipment.
