THE huge new urban aviation community being built at Jebel Ali, some 40 kilometres from the centre of the business district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates – is to take centre stage at ATM.
World Central will transform 1,000sqm into an information-driven theatre that demonstrates the project’s ‘smart city’ concept.
The project had a soft launch at last year’s Dubai 2005 international aerospace exhibition and created a huge stir on the international aviation scene. It covers a vast, 140sqkm development which will encompass an international airport – JXB - with the current combined capacity of London’s Heathrow and Chicago’s O’Hare.
With the capacity for six parallel runways and as many concourses capable of handling more than 120 million passengers and more than 12 tonnes of cargo a year, JXB is a visionary project designed to serve the emirate’s passenger and cargo air transportation needs until 2050 and beyond.
