Maiden World Travel and Tours of South Africa will make its debut as an exhibitor at this month's Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
"We attended the ATM 2000 as visitors and were very impressed with what we saw. We therefore have decided to be an exhibitor at ATM 2001 as it provides us to expose our products and services to our niche market," a company official said.
Maiden World Travel started in June 1993 at a time when the apartheid government was at a stage of breaking up and falling apart and the ANC led government under Nelson Mandela took over.
The travel agency was established with the following objectives:
To provide job/career opportunities in the travel and tourism industry.
To provide travel services to the South African market to travel overseas, such as schools, sports clubs, religious groups at a very affordable price.
To promote South Africa as a tourist destination to our niche market in the Gulf states as well as the Arabic speaking North African countries
To focus on Africa and the Middle East as a tourist destination.
To create students' exchange programmes.
The company offers the full range of services including hotel bookings, car hire, cruises, group bookings, school outings, conference facilities, travel insurance etc. The company hosted 450 Middle East tourists last year.
"We are the only company who employ Arabic speaking tour guides and who understands how to relate to our Arab friends and we will ensure that they client have the most enjoyable holiday of their life," the official said.
