Le Meridien Sharm El Sheikh, the luxury hotel group's newest property in Egypt, will take the centre-stage at this month's MTF in Cairo.

The hotel, which opened in April this year, aims "to create proper exposure as a property offering wide selection of facilities and activities", marketing communications manager Gehan Moustafa said.

Set in a magnificent location amidst reefs, sand and natural shades of green and blue, bordered by sunshine, palm trees and aroma of exotic flowers, Le Meridien Sharm El Sheikh is considered Le Meridien's Pearl on Egypt's Red Sea Coast.

Located on the renowned White Knight Beach, a preserved area of Ras Mohamed National Park, and a paradise for diving and snorkelling, the resort is only a 10-minute drive from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and Naama Bay.

"It combines a variety of architectural styles, ranging from Mediterranean and Far Eastern to Arabesque as well as colonial African style," said a spokesperson.

"The outdoor areas of the resort are beautifully landscaped with tropical trees, waterfalls and rock formations."

Accommodation includes 408 well-appointed rooms and suites overlooking Tiran Island, which rises majestically from the Red Sea. All rooms meet different guest preferences; families, non-smoking rooms and rooms specially designed for the disabled.

Each room features individually controlled central air conditioning, satellite TV, pay movies, in-room safe boxes, mini bar, hairdryer and IDD telephones.

"Our chefs have gone from east to west to bring you the most delicious delights from around the world," said the spokesperson.

"Whether you wish to savour country Italian dishes at Rosmarino or indulge in our catch of the day right from the sea at Morgana, a barbeque at the beach, our selection of restaurants are guaranteed to please and delight every taste.

"Dine at the Tirana Restaurant for fine international cuisine or have a romantic meal at La Piazza. For a more casual treat, visit the Safari Lobby Bar or sip your favourite cocktail at the Rocky Bar by the poolside. For a typical Oriental ambiance, a trip to the Shishawy cafŽ to relish our flavoured shisha and exotic drinks is a must. Desert evenings can be organised and are enhanced by oriental entertainment."

The resort also offers comprehensive facilities for business meetings and conferences.

"Whether it is a business seminar, a meeting or incentive, our three fully equipped meeting rooms accommodating up to 350 guests, offer up-to-date equipment, including overhead LCD and slide projectors, screen, TV, video, PC printer, copier, fax, sound and light systems to meet the demands of functions large and small," said the spokesperson.

A variety of imaginative theme nights can be arranged and are enhanced by original entertainment. A Business Centre offers private workstations and a comprehensive range of business services.

Le Meridien Sharm El Sheikh is a natural retreat for sports enthusiasts with first rate indoor and outdoor facilities, including a three-level swimming pool with underwater music, complemented by extensive landscaping featuring ponds and waterfalls.

The resort also offers access to a unique diving site - just off shore; a diving centre, a water sports centre, tennis, beach volleyball, a fitness centre with sauna and massage services, billiards and an 18-hole golf course nearby. Excursions to religious sites such as St Catherine's Monastery, Mount Moses and historical sites such as Nuweiba Fortress, Pharaoh's Island and the Coloured Canyon can be arranged on a daily basis. Children too are offered optimal facilities at Le Meridien Sharm El Sheikh. The Penguin Club with its own snack bar, pool, playground and an indoor video games room has been created as a haven for children.

Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts is the luxury brand of Forte Hotel Group. It currently has 125 hotels (32,000 rooms) worldwide in 55 countries (including 4 hotels in Egypt), with properties in the major capital cities and leisure destinations.
