Golf Academy set to open in RAK

THE Tower Links Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah is set to open its Golf Academy and floodlit driving range.

Gary Constable, director of Golf at Tower Links, said the Golf Academy will be run by PGA qualified golf pro-fessionals and will feature a dedicated teaching tee, a short game zone comprising two green complexes complete with practice bunkers.
The Tower Links Golf Club is an 18 hole; Par 72 golf course and golf academy complete with driving range and short game facilities. Nine holes and the practice facilities have floodlighting for night play.
The teaching tee sits away from the general range and adjacent to the indoor swing analysis centre which will feature multi-cameras, specialist lighting and the latest GASP Systems computer-run instructional software, he said.
He added, “Along with myself we have just hired a Teaching Professional from Scotland, Jonathan Porteous. Jonathan was with me in Cairo where he assisted me in coaching Egypt’s National teams to success.” With the opening of Tower Links Golf Club, all residents and visitors to Ras Al Khaimah have the opportunity of not only playing golf on an excellent golf course, but to also learn to play and improve their golf at the highest professional level.
The Golf Academy will offer a variety of teaching packages – ranging from an individual half-hour lesson to concentrated academy memberships and group lessons.
