FIVE new Four Seasons hotels will open their doors in the Middle East by the mid-2006, taking the brand’s total strength here to nine hotels.
These include the Cairo Nile Plaza, opening this August as well as Doha and Damascus properties in 2005 and Beirut and Alexandria in 2006.
“We have in-principle agreements in Marrakech and Kuwait and are constantly seeking hotels in the region, including Dubai,” said Cesare Rouchdy, senior marketing director, Egypt. “But location is very important, we want to open where we can deliver our brand of service.”
While nine hotels may seem like a lot, Rouchdy says only three or four are being opened per year. “Really, we’re just taking advantage of the tremendous opportunity here. We’ve been away 30 years.”
