Khalid A. Bin Sulayem, director general of Dubai's department of tourism and commerce marketing (DTCM), joined more than 100 members of the UAE's hotel and catering sectors at the launch of the UAE chapter of the Hotel & Catering International Management Association (HCIMA) held at the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management recently.
The first HCIMA meeting was geared to promote HCIMA membership among industry professionals with an overview of the growth surge experienced by the tourism and hospitality sectors in Dubai and the UAE over the last decade. With more than 18,000 members worldwide, HCIMA is considered the global professional body for the international hospitality industry. According to HCIMA UAE chairman, Robert Fadel: "The HCIMA promotes the highest professional standards of management and education in the international hospitality industry".
