The Cascades at Soma Bay Golf Resort and Thalasso Centre on Egypt's Red Sea promises golfers and visitors a "combination of luxury and leisure".
The resort is set in the midst of the 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course designed by England great Gary Player, and built in the typical turn of the century British colonial club house style. It features 252 spacious rooms and suites offering a comprehensive range of facilities including direct dial telephones, mini-bar, satellite television. The rooms also provide great views of the Red Sea and the wide expanse of the golf course. The 6,442 yard course can provide a challenge to the players with 78 bunkers. The resort offers group and individual coaching by qualified professionals and three to seven days packages are also available including green fees and meal plans. A nine-hole academy course built to the highest USPGA standards, pro shop and a driving range with putting and pitching greens ensure a complete golfing experience. The centre which is being opened in cooperation with Les Thermes de St Malo, it will offer complete treatment in hydro, algo and physiotherapy. Opening early next year, the 7,300 sq m facility will include treatment and exercise rooms and add to the resort's appeal as a prime destination in the spectacular Soma Bay peninsula, south of Hurghada.
