New website for travel agents

VIRGIN Atlantic has launched a new travel trade website dedicated to travel agents and tour operators in the UAE.

The website, vsflyinghub.com offers a one-stop shop for agents looking for information on Virgin Atlantic. The site features details on the airline’s policies, products, destinations and news with areas designed to surprise and delight the agent with competitions and special offers.

To launch the UAE site Virgin Atlantic is offering all agents the opportunity to win City Centre shopping vouchers to the value of Dh300 ($81).

Brad West, country manager UAE, said: “We are delighted to launch this new website and it really underlines Virgin Atlantic’s longstanding commitment to the trade. We recognise that the trade is an essential part of the whole customer journey and want to provide members with as much information and as many tools as possible to help them.”

The new website is designed so agents can access information quickly and simply at the click of a button. The knowledge bank section is an easy-access A-to-Z directory including everything agents need to know including aircraft, baggage and clubhouses in an easy-to-read format.

The website allows agents to tailor information to their needs.  Agents can ‘favourite’ pages and see which pages are most commonly viewed by other agents.  They can also create scrapbooks of content from the site, personalise them with their logo and send them directly from the site straight to their customers or download them as pdfs.  That’s not all – agents can also download logos, images and copy blocks for brochures or communications.

The site will also feature some special Virgin touches to surprise and delight the agent including competitions and lots more.  And agent training modules are also being developed and will be available later in the year.

Travel agents should visit www.vsflyinghub.com to register for the new site.

Virgin Atlantic has also announced the launch of a new route between London and Cancun, Mexico, starting next summer. The twice weekly service will begin in June 2012 and will see up to 94,000 Virgin Atlantic customers travelling between London and Cancun in the first year.

Cancun becomes Virgin Atlantic’s 33rd destination worldwide.  The new route strengthens the airline’s leisure network from London Gatwick, which already includes nine leading long-haul destinations in the Caribbean and US. Virgin Atlantic estimates that the new route will deliver around $25 million of tourism revenue to the Cancun market each year and has the potential to create up to 650 jobs in aviation and tourism in Mexico.
