The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide, is to bring its designer brand Hotel Missoni to Cape Town in South Africa.
The new lifestyle hotel, featuring 157 designer rooms will open its doors in time for the FIFA World Cup. “We are delighted that the world of Hotel Missoni now extends from the ancient rocks of Scotland to the deserts of Arabia and now to the southern tip of Africa, in that continent’s most stylish city,” said Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of Rezidor.
The group has signed a worldwide licence agreement with the iconic Italian fashion house Missoni and opened the first Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh with two further properties under development in Kuwait and Oman.
A new and distinctively different kind of lifestyle hotel, Hotel Missoni will quite unashamedly set itself out to capture the increasingly important lifestyle sector of the hospitality market.
Hotel Missoni Cape Town has a prime location in the heart of this thriving city surrounded by upmarket office towers, trendy restaurants and clubs and popular tourism sites.
Besides 157 rooms, the hotel will feature a signature Missoni Cucina restaurant, a bar, a stunning rooftop terrace with a cantilevered swimming pool and views of Table Mountain, a full spa and small meeting and private dining facilities.
The Hotel Missoni Cape Town is Rezidor’s fourth hotel in Cape Town, following the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Park Inn Greenmarket Square and Radisson Blu Hotel Blaauwberg which is also due to open in 2010. Cape Town is today one of the world’s global jet-set capitals and remains a predominantly tourist destination but is growing as a corporate and business destination as businesses diversify and the demand for services grows in the region.
