DUBAI developer, Seven Tides will open all its properties in the first six months of 2010.
“The economic climate has forced some delays over time; however we are back on time.
The first property will open in May 2010 and the last one just after summer,” said Michael Scully, managing director hospitality for Seven Tides.
The Thai-themed Royal Amwaj resort, at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE, will be the first to open operated by Mövenpick.
“Our chain of luxury family hotels will cater to the four and five-star market for families. A new phenomenon that’s gaining popularity now is staycations and we believe there is an enormous market in the GCC for family hotels,” said Scully.
“The Ibn Battuta Gate will be the first property which will recreate this fun environment with a fully-integrated family resort with entertainment for all ages.”
The company plans to open three further hotels in Dubai with Mövenpick: The Ibn Battuta Gate, Mövenpick Deira and Oceana on Palm Jumeirah.
It also expects to be the first company to start developing its holdings on The World where it owns 10 islands that make up the South America section and plans to start building in the next six months.
