Kanoo Travel has partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to offer travellers across the Gulf a range of vacation packages.

The deals begin at $135 for four days and three nights per person on a twin-sharing basis at top hotels, including airport transfers and half-day city tours. They are particularly targeted at travellers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

And as part of the promotion, the agency will give the first 50 customers a book of discount vouchers for shops and restaurants to celebrate the city’s impressive shopping festival.

“It was very important for us to work with Kanoo Holidays as their network extends across the GCC region and allows us to reach markets where Hong Kong is not too well known yet,” said Simon Mills, director for Northern Europe and the Middle East, Hong Kong Tourism Board. “Some of the offers are truly exceptional for Middle East visitors and because of the great value there really has never been a better time to go to Hong Kong.”

Nabeel Kanoo, senior general manager, Kanoo Travel, described Hong Kong as the perfect holiday destination, a mix of east meeting west, with a wide range of attractions and activities for all kinds of vacationers.

“Hong Kong is one of Asia’s friendliest cities, with visa free entry for nationals from more than 160 countries. With high quality hotels and service levels to match, Hong Kong is becoming a home from home for visitors from the Middle East,” he said.

Visitor arrivals to Hong Kong reached 2,834,178 in August, a 5.8 per cent year-on-year increase, according to the tourism board.

Reversing the downward trend in the previous three months, the August increase was due to the lower base of arrivals during the Olympics last year when visits by long-haul travellers were impacted by the mainland visa policy adjustment, while many mainlanders stayed home for the games.

Total visitor arrivals in the first eight months of the year reached 18.9 million, 3.4 per cent lower than the same period last year.
