KEMPINSKI Hotels announced its latest property openings at ATM 2009, this year adding five new destinations to its portfolio of 10 hotels and resorts across the Middle East and Africa region.
“These are exciting times for Kempinski as it shows our unrelenting commitment to achieving unrivalled leadership in the hospitality within the region,” said Ulrich Eckhardt, president Kempinski Hotels, Middle East and Africa.
Openings included the 325 room Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay resort on the Egyptian Red Sea, offering many leisure facilities and attractions, including a 400 m private beach area, spa and health club complex, an aqua park, and championship golf course.
The Bilila Lodge Kempinski in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, a UNESCO World Heritage site, also opens this month, and offers 74 rooms including two private villas, as well as an Anantara Spa and an infinity pool overlooking the grasslands.
“An amazing property within a breathtaking destination that should be on every adventure-seeker’s must visit list, yet another example of Kempinski’s dedication to present pioneering exotic destinations,” said Eckhardt. There is currently an opening offer at Bilila Lodge Kempinski from June 1 to September 30, for Euro500 for two people sharing per night inclusive of full board, tax and service charge.
Also due to open this month is the new 201 room Kempinski Hotel Aqaba offering international cuisine, MICE facilities and a spa.
The Kempinski Residence, Palm Jumeirah is due to open by the end of the year with 150 serviced apartments and 28 suites. The residence is the first component of a whole complex expected to open in phases during 2010. In Cairo Kempinski Hotels has just signed a management agreement to operate Kempinski Hotel El Nil, Cairo, which is expected to open by November this year.
Latest news from Kempinski is that Resense Spa SA – a new spa brand created by Kempinski Hotels and Raison d’Etre - is developing a spa concept exclusively for Kempinski Hotels, dubbed Kempinski The Spa.
The main focus of this concept will be on phytotherapy, the use of organic herbs as the main healing component. The extracts of natural origins will be used as effective ingredients in treatments and spa experiences with an aim to heal and restore equilibrium.
