Leipzig: Europe’s new meeting destination

As one of the most modern trade fair and congress cities in Europe, Leipzig offers the perfect backdrop for all kinds of events.

Conferences, large scale events and corporate functions can be handled in Leipzig which has a new-look website www.do-it-at-leipzig.de providing information on conference hotels, congress centres and event venues, plus service providers, all from a single source.
Based on the experiences of the respective service providers in their day to day contact with customers, the site has unique search functions.
The Event Planner allows users to specify certain parameters, such as the number of people attending according to seating options, the size of the exhibition space, the number of hotel rooms required and the location of the event. The results list provides a range of suitable hotels or venues, prioritised according to the degree to which they match your criteria. The Venue Search facility allows the user to search for potential venues according to the type of event being planned and for example, the desired ambience.
Other advantages of the website include its clear structure, it makes no attempt to influence clients using advertising or pop-ups, there is a search pane and results list on a single page and there is timetable information for local public transport.
The first version of do-it-at-leipzig.de was developed in 2000. Originally conceived as a temporary solution, the service portal has been a resounding success. Under the combined direction of Leipziger Messe and Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing, the portal has been extended over the past few months. It represents a key building block in the congress marketing strategy of do-it-at-leipzig.de, which has been planned to 2009 and in which 45 partners cooperate in a project based capacity.
Another result is the Meetings & Events in Leipzig brochure which was published in early 2008 and presents the main features offered by Leipzig as a congress city under the slogan “Feel the spirit...”.
