F&B team brings a world of experience

The Riyadh Marriott Hotel has a new team at the top of its food and beverage department.

George Oggenfuss has taken charge as the new food and beverage director while Werner Eberwein has been named as the new executive chef at the hotel.

A graduate of the Hotel Management School in Thun, Switzerland, Oggenfuss is no stranger to Saudi Arabia. He has worked with the Red Sea Palace Hotel in Jeddah as the assistant F&B manager in 1992.

Oggenfuss, a Swiss national born in 1966, began his career in the kitchen at hotels such as the Palace St. Moritz and the Ristorante Barbatti in Lucerne.

He also worked in the Sun City Resort in South Africa and on American cruise liner, the Crystal Symphony.

In the Middle East, he has worked for the last 4 years for Movenpick in Aden, Yemen and Jeddah.

New executive chef Eberwein brings a world of experience to the kitchens at the Riyadh Marriott.

A German national, Eberwein, has worked in Geneva, Ivory Coast, Montego Bay in Jamaica, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Acapulco in Mexico, Kimberley in South Africa, Manila, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia and Houston, Texas in the United States.
