ADAC unveils free zone plan
The Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is planning to construct a state-of-the art free trade zone at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Occupying a built area of over seven million sqm, the free zone will offer investors a package of world-class facilities and services. 
ADAC chairman and managing director, Khalifa Al Mazrouei said the new zone would ensure that the airport becomes a thriving cargo and business hub as well as increasing non-aeronautical revenues.

UAE signs air deal with Mexico
THE UAE has initialed Air Services Agreement (ASA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mexico. The agreement includes designations of four UAE national airlines; Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, and RAK Airways. It also includes unlimited capacities, numbers of frequencies and routes, as well as any types of aircraft whether owned or leased that are operated by designated airlines of both countries for passenger and cargo services. The agreement also includes, in addition to the third and fourth freedoms, the practice of the fifth freedom traffic rights on specific intermediate points in Europe.

Emirates double daily to Beijing
EMIRATES, the Dubai-based global airline, will launch its double daily services to Beijing from May 1, four months prior to celebrating the anniversary of its first flight to the city last year. Initially the airline will increase its services from the current daily to 12 flights every week, and from July 1, the busy Dubai-Beijing route will feature a double-daily non-stop service.

Saraya to launch private jet service
SARAYA Holdings limited, a real estate development company, has announced its new venture, Saraya Private Aviation, which will provide jet charter operation for individuals as well as large corporations, banks and government officials in addition to visitors, tourists and businessmen. Beginning operations in 2008, it will operate on short or long distance trips, taking off and landing from any destination in the region or from anywhere in the world. Ali Kolaghassi, (above) CEO and vice chairman of Saraya Holdings said the company’s fleet will comprise the latest aircraft models, details of which will be made available at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, in Switzerland this month.
