SILVERSEA has introduced several initiatives designed to offer its Middle Eastern guests the finest experience afloat during 2007, says a company official.

This is part of a strong Middle Eastern focus for the company.
Trudy Redfern, Silversea's vice-president of sales and marketing UK, Ireland and Middle East, told TTN: “Silversea has this year added 14 dedicated segments for the Middle East market with a number of visits to ports in the area.” The highlight of this schedule was last month’s 10-day Dubai/Dubai round trip on Silver Whisper, which visited Muscat, Furairah, Khasab, Kish Island, Al Manamah and Abu Dhabi.
Ships travelling in and around the region include the Silver Cloud, Silver Shadow, and Silver Whisper. Popular ports of call are Dubai, Fujairah, Salalah, Safaga, Aqaba, Sharm el Sheikh and Alexandria. “One of the many advantages for Silversea guests is the size of our ships that allows them to visit some of the more remote and beautiful ports not accessible to larger vessels, whilst still maintaining the highest space per passenger ratio of any cruise operator,” said Redfern.
Silversea Cruises now offers ‘Arabian Nights’, a selection of cruises within the UAE and surrounding areas. Voyagers can choose trips between Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah in the UAE; Muscat and  Khasab in Oman; Kish Island, Iran, Al Manamah, Bahrain, or they can opt for a ‘Day At Sea’ experience.
The company’s much enhanced enrichment and cultural programmes continue to grow with a large variety of guest speakers covering a diverse range of subjects including lifestyle, wine and cuisine, destinations and points of historical interest.
“The cruise industry as a whole is now one of the fastest growing sectors of the travel industry worldwide with strong growth in the luxury end of the market. Given that Silversea reported its highest revenue in its 13-year history in 2006, the company is very confident of maintaining its position as world market leader in the luxury segment during 2007 as booking trends already reflect this,” Redfern said.
The company, long been recognised as a luxury travel innovator and trend setter with its flexible open dining concept, generous all inclusive ship board policy and unique personalised voyages programme, is planning to take things to the next level by offering guests even greater personal freedom and flexibility, in customising their own cruise experience to suit their personal lifestyle, while incorporating an enhanced array of complimentary amenities and benefits, she said.
As part of a brand new initiative, Silversea is to introduce a one off sailing to be called Privileged Passage, a concept designed to showcase an active lifestyle, luxury cruise as a unique, non-traditional holiday experience.
