Haitham heads Al Jazira
Haitham Murad has been appointed as the general manager of Al Jazira Hotel and Resort, Abu Dhabi. He brings with him an MBA in hotel management and 17 years of industry experience.

Aidarous moves to Safaga
Hicham Aidarous has been promoted within the InterContinental Hotels group to general manager of its largest Red Sea Resort, the Holiday Inn Resort Safaga Palace. Aidarous was formerly AGM at the InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort.

Soussan at the Rotana
Mohamed Soussan has joined Rotana Hotels as director of sales & marketing for the GCC. Born in Lebanon, Mohamed has more than a decade of experience in hotels, in both F&B and sales and marketing.

Turner at the Grand Hyatt
The Grand Hyatt Muscat has appointed Richard Turner its director of sales and marketing. A British national who grew up in both London and Aberdeen, this is Turner’s first stint in the Gulf.

New role for Herbert
Cathay Pacific Airways has named Philip Herbert as the new country manager for UAE and Oman. He brings extensive marketing and management expertise to the airline’s Gulf unit.
New at the Hyatt Regency
The Hyatt Regency Dubai has appointed Juan Mercadante as director of rooms and Allan Limmer as executive sous chef. Both appointees will be instrumental in managing the ongoing ambitious refinement project at the hotel.

New at Sheraton Bahrain
Two new appointments have been made at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel & Towers: Michele Magrone as revenue manager and Marta Andreeva as area director, public relations. While Magrone has worked across Europe and Middle East, Andreeva moves to Bahrain from Starwood properties in Qatar.

Meerloo at Mina Seyahi
Sietske Meerloo returns to Dubai after a spell in Brussels in her new capacity as PR and com-munication manager at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina. Merloo is a Dutch national with a command of English, French and German.

Seller joins Al Sondos
Barbara Seller has been appointed executive housekeeper at the two Al Sondos properties in Dubai, managed by Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts. She was most recently executive housekeeper at the K-Club in Antigua.

New faces at Radisson SAS
Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts has appointed four new sales and marketing directors at resorts across the region. Yigit Sezgin has been assigned to the Diplomat Radisson SAS in Bahrain, Louie Beck at the Radisson SAS Resort in Sharjah, Camille Geha has been appointed to Radisson SAS Martinez Hotel in Beirut and the Radisson SAS Hotel, Riyadh has announced Wissam El Hassanieh as its new director of sales and marketing.

InterCon boosts sales team
The InterContinental Hotels has appointed two global sales managers. Riyadh-based Hilal Saade for central and eastern Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait-based Ibrahim Saba for the Northern Gulf, Qatar and Bahrain.

Chef Rolando joins Dusit
Chef Rolando Manesco joins the Dusit Dubai as executive sous chef. He will be responsible for the  operation of Pax Romana, in conjunction with the other outlets of the hotel. 

New team at Doha FS
GM Simon Casson has announced his pre-opening team for Four Seasons Hotel, Doha. Ashraf El Zahed has been appointed director of marketing, while Italian-born Livio Faverio has been named hotel manager. Director of finance is Ashraf Tadros, while Andrew Dartnell joins as director, F&B. Director of engineering is Bernard Khoury, director of rooms is Charlie Parker and Samar Eraky is HR director.

Ney serves up seafood
Rick Ney has joined the Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers as head chef at its new Finz seafood
outlet. He comes from California and has over
20 years of experience in the culinary business around the world.

New faces at Grand Hyatt
The Grand Hyatt Dubai has appointed three new members to the executive committee team: Alexander Pichel as resident manager, Peter Gassner as director of F&B and Steven Cox as director of the Grand Spa. While Pichel has been with the Hyatt for over a decade, Gassner returns to Dubai from Amman and Cox joins from Italy, where he managed his own business of beauty and hair salons.

Dearmer moves to Shangri-La
The Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, has appointed Ian Dearmer as director of sales and marketing. He has 13 years of experience in the region, coming to Dubai from the Sheraton Doha.

New faces at Renard Int’l
Renard International welcomes two new names to its Cairo office. Rupert H Haarhoff will specifically address the diverse needs of the hospitality sector while Patricia Camelia will address recruitment needs.

Lots cooking at Conrad Cairo
The Conrad Cairo has appointed Chef Delcourt Laurent its new pastry chef. The hotel also has a new Italian chef at its signature Villa d’Este restaurant, Chef Salvatore Coco.

Spacer
