Senior officials from Arabian Adventures, the regions' largest travel group called upon the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) to view its facilities followed by a tour of the Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC).
"Interest from local destination management companies in the DICC is very high and most of the representatives that have visited us are impressed with the convention center and what it has to offer," said DWTC assistant general manager (Acting), Abdulla T Qassem. He noted that the DICC represented the coherent progression of DWTC's business and growth and is designed to provide an impetus to Dubai's status as an emerging destination for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). "The new facility is large enough to accommodate events with up to 12,000 delegates and its main multipurpose hall has the capacity to hold from 600 to 6000 delegates and when set as an auditorium, it can accommodate 4,500 delegates," Qassem remarked. Officials from Arabian Adventures included Hans Haensel, director destination & leisure management and Frederic Bardin, general manager who were accompanied on the tour by Qassem, DWTC manager finance, Sheikh Mansoor bin Jassim Al Thani and DWTC assistant manager operations, Manal Shaheen.
