Buoyed by a nearly 25 per cent surge in tourist traffic last year, Jordan is shifting into high gear to attract Saudi Arabia's upscale expatriates.
The government is targeting housing compounds and major organisations where they are employed. This was disclosed by Jordan's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Taleb Rifai. He also announced that Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon have decided to promote "complementary tourismâ" under which round-trip package tours would be organised from Saudi Arabia to the three Middle Eastern countries.
