Emirates' first and business class lounges at Dubai International Airport have been voted among the best airport lounges worldwide, in an online survey by the UK's Skytrax Research.
Emirates' facilities came a close second to Cathay Pacific Airways' lounge at Hong Kong International Airport in the survey for the Airport Lounge of the Year 2002, which attracted a total of 711,245 votes. Meanwhile, the airline has opened a new lounge for its special customers at Dubai airport. Upon arrival, unaccompanied minors and customers requiring wheelchair assistance are escorted to the lounge which is located within the main Arrivals Hall. Family members and friends meeting minor or wheelchair-assisted customers can wait in the lounge in comfort and can be assisted with formalities by Emirates Airport Services staff members.
