The second phase of a Dh140 million ($38 million) makeover is almost complete at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort and Towers.

Acting general manager Ahmed Khalifa said the hotel, owned by the Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), would be relaunched soon.

Under the second phase, 100 rooms have been renovated and are getting the final touches for re-opening by end of this month.

Work on another 50 rooms should be completed by March next year.

One of the new features is a private beach, which has a lagoon linked to the hotel via a bridge currently under construction.

Phase one covered the resort area, some restaurants, the pool and the health club.

Khalifa said under the second phase, the lobby would be more spacious and the banquet rooms would be doubled in size.

The Liwa Brasserie will be transformed into a fusion food court, and the La Mamma's restaurant upgraded.

Once the upgrade is completed, the hotel will increase the number of executive tower floors from one to three levels.
