Six Continents hotels has appointed new general managers for its properties in Alexandria, Egypt.
Christophe Laure has been named general manager of the Windsor Inter-Continental Hotel and Metropole Inter-Continental Hotel in Alexandria. Both hotels are recent additions to Six Continents Hotels portfolio of 121 Middle East and North African properties. Hassan Nejm, previously resident manager at Pyramids Park Inter-Continental in Cairo has been named manager of the Holiday Inn Resort Alexandria, the city's only international brand hotel property with its own beach. Meanwhile, Waddah Abu Al Ghanam, the former director of sales and marketing for Hotel Inter-Continental Doha in Qatar, has been promoted to regional director of sales and marketing for a portfolio of Six Continents Hotels properties located in the Northern Gulf region. In his new position, Al Ghanam will oversee the sales strategy and market position of five Six Continents hotel properties including Hotel Inter-Continental Doha, Holiday Inn Doha, Crowne Plaza Kuwait, Regency Inter-Continental Bahrain, and Holiday Inn Bahrain. Magdy Takla has been appointed regional director operations, Red Sea region, Six Continents Hotels, and general manager of the Inter-Continental Resort Sharm El Sheikh, where he will be responsible for the property due to open towards the end of October 2002. Previously general manager of the 252-room Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort and Casino, Takla brings with him 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
