roomsXML lists room types to the letter

Bang … call a spade a spade

LEADING accommodation wholesaler roomsXML.com has introduced yet another feature that is first in the online accommodation segment. Investing thousands of dollars and man-hours, roomsXML.com is ensuring that room types appear to its end users exactly as per the room names assigned by the hotel.

Each hotel has its own nomenclature with which it names its rooms but hotel booking systems hardly retain the original name. So, instead of calling a ‘Rainbow Tower Ocean Front Corner Room’; other systems will show the room simply as a ‘Corner Room’.

While the simplified room name is not wrong, it leads to confusion when travel agents or their customers call the hotel up to double-check their bookings, managing director Prakash Bang tells TTN. “A mismatch in the room type may cause heartburn to the traveller as well as the travel agent.”

From a travel agent’s perspective this feature removes the guess work from the room booking, while keeping their customers happy, he adds.

“We have a five-man team, who continuously monitors every hotel in the system as hotels keep changing their rooming configurations.” Room names for more than 3,900 most popular hotels around the world have been correctly matched. Hundreds more are added to the count every week.

“At roomsXML.com, innovation is the key differentiator. That’s what keeps us leading the pack. Till date we have introduced nine specific features that were industry firsts – and many of them still are!”

roomsXML.com is amongst the world’s leading accommodation wholesalers catering exclusively to  the travel trade. It was established in 2007 and since then has gradually entered various global markets quite successfully. The company is ISO 9001:2008 Certified; ranks amongst Dun & Bradstreet’s Leading 100 SMEs of India and has also been rated by Inc. magazine for being amongst the Top 100 Innovative Companies.
