MELIÁ Hotels International (MHI) announced the launch of a new portal for travel agents, MELIÁ PRO. Featuring an easy-to-use booking engine, highly competitive rates and up to 16 per cent commission on all bookings, MELIÁ PRO is an exclusive resource centre specifically designed to increase business for the company’s travel partners. The portal will house a new loyalty platform, MELIÁ PRO Rewards, offering exclusive rates and benefits for agents at any of the company’s portfolio of over 350 hotels worldwide.
“Through the MELIÁ PRO portal, MHI further strengthens its commitment to the success of our travel partners,” says Juergen Stuetz, vice president of sales, The Americas. “By working hand in hand with travel professionals, MHI has experienced exponential growth and the key to continuing this accomplishment is by innovating the way we connect with our partners.”MELIÁ PRO provides agents with the company’s best available rates guaranteed. Registration is straightforward and must be completed by the agency manager at www.meliapro.com. In addition to the traditional commissionable retail rate option, a key benefit available within the portal is a net rate option enabling agents to collect gross payment from clients with a net remittance allowing agents to collect immediate commission. Another key attribute of the travel agent portal is MELIÁ PRO Rewards, the new travel professional loyalty programme, which has replaced Más Amigos. All current Más Amigos member points will automatically transferred to the new program upon registration. Travel professionals can maximise points earned by booking through MELIÁ PRO. Members will benefit from exclusive rates at all properties for personal travel, including a 25 per cent discount on any available rate. Later this year, MELIÁ PRO will launch a development and e-learning tool featuring the latest information on all of the Meliá brands: Gran Meliá, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, Paradisus Resorts, ME by Meliá, Innside by Meliá, Tryp by Wyndham and Sol Hotels. NEW GCC PROPERTY MHI will manage Meliá Doha, which will open in January 2015 and is the brand’s third hotel in the region. The hotel is set over 62,000 square meters, has 280 rooms, with 37 suites ranging from Executive to Royal Suite, and will offer a wide range of international and specialist restaurants, separate spas for both men and women, pools, and a gym. The 41-floor Bin Samikh Tower, which will host the new Meliá Doha, is located in West Bay, the most prestigious district in Doha. It was designed to house a five-star hotel of the highest standard, competing with luxury international hotel brands in the West Bay area.
