Rail Europe introduces Swiss Pass Specials
SPECIALIST in tickets and passes for European rail travel, Rail Europe, has launched the last phase of its 2013 promotional programme with two special Swiss pass promotions enabling travellers to enjoy a wide range of benefits across 41 Swiss cities.
The two packages offered by Rail Europe and Swiss Travel System will run throughout November and December for GCC travellers.
The offers include the two-day pass for travellers who are interested to explore and enjoy Switzerland in a shorter period, which will be available for sale until May 31, 2014 and the ‘Swiss Pass 4+1’ which enables travellers to enjoy one free day of a first class 4-day Swiss Pass, Saver Pass or Youth Pass travelling between November 1 to December 31, 2013.
Both promotional packages are on sale from all Rail Europe point of sales in UAE and GCC such as AL Rostamani, Dnata, Al Tayer, ITS in UAE and AL Tayyar, Al Zouman, Fursan in Saudi Arabia as well as its online shop.
Bahwan Travel Group chooses Sabre
BAHRAIN-headquartered travel technology company Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME), has signed another landmark agreement – a five year exclusive agreement with Bahwan Travel Group, one of the leading travel agencies in Oman.
The exclusive agreement sees The Bahwan Travel Group switch to Sabre, where it will access the latest in technology solutions to accelerate its growth in Oman’s rapidly-progressing online travel sector.
The solutions include Sabre’s online booking engine, real-time data analysis tools that provide rich insights into corporate contracts, tools that automate ticketing, refunds and exchanges, and mid-office solutions. The agency will also offer Sabre’s corporate online booking tool, GetThere, to corporations in Oman.
Meliá adds meeting packages online
MELIÁ Hotels International Meetings & Events team continues to develop innovative tools for organising events and meetings in company hotels. The latest is a booking system for “meeting packages,” one of the company’s top products designed to make it easier to book simple meetings with basic services and fixed prices per person.
The system helps organise events in more than 120 company hotels in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, America, and Africa, and includes all the basic services such as a meeting room, lunch, two coffee breaks, screen, flipchart and writing materials, all at fixed prices from just 45 Euros ($59.88) per person. Customers may also include additional services as needed, getting a tailor-made budget, which helps control the costs of the meeting.
In addition to this new section, the website also includes a tool to check special rates and offers for groups, a section for weddings and honeymoons, with information on specialist hotel programmes, and the access to the online directory of meetings and events hotels and the Mas Amigos Reward programme for travel agents and meeting planners.
New application to boost hotel business
ACCOMMODATION providers and customers of travel technology company RateGain can keep their availability and rates up to date and better manage reservations brought to them by global travel wholesaler GTA, thanks to RateGain’s new connection to GTA’s Supplier XML Application Programme Interface (API).
The API gives channel managers, intermediaries and hotels – from independents to small groups and chains – an easy to use and seamless point of access to GTA’s systems. RateGain has incorporated the API into its RezGain channel management platform. RateGain’s hospitality and travel technology solutions, that help customers around the world to streamline their operations and sales, will be further enhanced thanks to the new connection.
It means that when hotels update rates and availability, the information is immediately available to tens of thousands of travel selling businesses using GTA’s booking systems.
