Le Méridien Dubai will begin a multi-million dollar refurbishment later this year

LE MÉRIDIEN Dubai will participate in the world’s leading travel and trade show ITB Berlin 2013 to be held from March 6 to 10, 2013. The hotel will also offer customised leisure packages to travel agents and tour operators present at the trade fair.

“We have been actively involved in ITB Berlin for years through Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce. We are using this opportunity to showcase the opulence of Dubai as a premium holiday destination. Around nine million foreign tourists visited the UAE in 2012. UAE tourism sector’s expected annual growth is around 6.5 per cent year-on-year during this decade,” said Vikas Choudhery, director of sales and marketing, Le Méridien Dubai.

Amid the tourism boom in Dubai, Le Méridien Dubai will begin its Dh450 million ($122 million) expansion plan by adding 197 rooms, taking the total hotel room’s inventory to 580 rooms by Q4 2013. With an average size of 52 sq-m and a personalised butler and customer service on each floor, the new guest rooms will offer more space, modern décor and amenities with the latest in technology and guest comfort. The expansion will also boost the capacity and size of the Ballroom. This 2,800 sq m ballroom, with its unique concept of show kitchen, will be able to accommodate around 1,500 guests.

“We have already added three new meetings rooms with modern amenities and are in the process of adding three more to accommodate the current as well as the forecasted demand in the coming months.”

“By the end of 2013 Le Méridien Dubai will have unparalleled conference and banqueting facilities spread across approximately 6,000 sq m area to reinforce the fact that Dubai and Le Méridien Dubai will be popular Mice destinations in the region,” added Choudhery.

From the impressive Great Ballroom with modern décor and technology to meeting rooms equipped with the latest state-of-the-art audio visual Mice equipment and an inventory of 580 guest rooms, Le Méridien Dubai aims to reign as a leader in the leisure and Mice sector.

“This massive expansion plan demonstrates the fact that Le Méridien Dubai is committed to a guests-centric approach to its business in future too. The soon-to-be-completed eight-story building is a direct result of our continued commitment to service excellence. This expansion will give us the opportunity to enhance our customer base for who we can deliver our style of exceptional service, ranging from a leisure traveller to a Mice delegate to a corporate customer and simultaneously address new market trends,” concluded Choudhery.
