Thomas Schmelter has taken over as the new general manager at the Crowne Plaza Jeddah hotel in Saudi Arabia.
He brings with him extensive experience with Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UK and Germany, and moves to the Crowne Plaza from the Jeddah Inter-Continental where he was the resident manager. Schmelter holds degrees from hotel management schools in Tegernsee and Munich, Germany and has also taken several advanced management courses at the Washington State University in the US. The 323-room Crowne Plaza Jeddah is situated only 25 minutes drive from Jeddah International Airport on the Corniche overlooking the Red Sea.
