The newly launched Ebony Suite at May Fair London

THE May Fair Hotel, one of the landmarks that have distinguished London for generations, continues to define luxury to a new generation of chic travellers as it announces a new signature suite –The Ebony Suite.

The May Fair Hotel, situated in the heart of the Mayfair village, has been a by-word for elegance and style since the twenties. This year is no exception, as the May Fair added to its impressive list of “must see” spaces and inspiring experiences; all of which were spearheaded by general manager, Anthony Lee, adding up to, simply, one of the best hotels in London.

Adding to its collection of Signature Suites, the May Fair invested in a 13th suite earlier this year, the Ebony Suite. Created for the style-savvy, the Ebony Suite is the ultimate space in which to entertain the A-list way, from the spacious private terrace, to the very latest TOTO bathroom technology – straight out of Japan. TOTO brings a slice of the future to The May Fair, with its illuminated bath, colour-changing, heat-sensitive basin controls and luxury, fully automated Washlet toilet, complete with remote control.

Designed for entertaining, the elaborate Ebony Suite offers guests the latest in contemporary comfort. Its stylish dark wood, ivory and chic metallic interior features a 67 sq m lounge area, complete with four-seater dining table, 52-inch flat screen, kitchenette and separate guest bathroom.

Spanning an impressive 110 sq m, and with access to an adjoining King Standard Bedroom, the Ebony Suite’s luxury living area leads out to a large 34 sq m private terrace, complete with patio furniture and stunning views across Mayfair. When booked as a two-bedroom suite, guests can also make use of the suite’s separate entrance, which doubles up as a private lobby – perfect for receiving visitors.

Another new feature that was introduced this summer is the May Fair’s Cigar Room. The Cigar Room provides a stylish sanctuary for cigar aficionados and pleasure-seeking dabblers to enjoy the finest Cubans – hand rolled to specification.

The Cigar Room’s Cigar Sommeliers (trained and certified by the exclusive suppliers of Cuban cigars to the UK, Hunters & Frankau) exemplify the hotel’s ethos of making luxury experiences accessible. Led by Sophia Christoforidou, the Cigar Sommeliers will help select your cigar or guide guests who are new to the experience, through the ritual of cigar smoking. For those looking to immerse themselves in the ritual of cigar tasting, or be the first to trial new brands and the latest releases, monthly master classes will also be available to book. The Cigar Room is on the first floor and beyond Silvena Rowe’s famous Quince Restaurant.

This year also sees Quince at the May Fair celebrate its first anniversary. Inimitable Chef Patron Silvena Rowe continues to bring her unique blend of magical flavours, textures and spices to this prestigious Mayfair location. The dining experience at Quince at the May Fair is one of relaxed sophistication and proffers an exciting insight into the beauty and scents of the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Above all, the hotel offers discretion of service that pre-empts requests, considers every eventuality and serves without distraction – a true five-star service for one of Europe’s finest properties.
