FRENCH hotel operator Accor will open a new Novotel hotel in the UAE’s capital later this month which will be clustered with an ibis hotel.
The Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate and The ibis Abu Dhabi Gate, will fill the need for quality, internationally-known, mid-scale accommodation for business and leisure travellers in Abu Dhabi.
Christophe Landais, managing director Accor Middle East, said: “Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate is the latest addition to our growing network of modern midscale properties in the region. We continue to trail-blaze in our ambition to build a strong base in Abu Dhabi which is prominent for our Novotel brand development. With Accor’s track record of being a pioneer in the region since 1979 when we opened our first hotel in the capital, Abu Dhabi Novotel Centre Hotel, which has now been rebranded to Mercure Abu Dhabi Centre Hotel in 2011, we can now offer guests a comprehensive hotel selection in the capital to choose from.”
“At the same time, ibis is pioneering a new era in Abu Dhabi’s hospitality arena by offering the first economy lodging hotel with international standards. Being our first ibis hotel in Abu Dhabi, it is a key milestone for the brand to be present in the UAE’s capital.”
As the capital of the UAE, many of the country’s embassies are located there, along with the headquarters and businesses associated with the oil and gas industry. Both the properties are well-positioned to cater to business travellers attending exhibitions and events at the nearby Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate has 160 superior rooms and 64 spacious one-bedroom apartments on the upper floors, providing guests with magnificent views of the city. With opening rates starting from Dh380++ ($103), Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate offers consistent quality accommodation and modern facilities. All rooms offer free internet connection. It has six modern meeting rooms ranging in size from 20-100 sq m.
The hotel can effectively organise successful meetings for business travellers with its Meeting@Novotel offering, the hotel’s innovative approach in organizing events. “Being a mid-scale property, Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate is perfectly positioned to capture the rise in leisure visitors.
Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority is actively promoting the city around the world, while enhancing infrastructure and attractions, and with the airlines expanding routes to and from Abu Dhabi, visitor numbers are increasing each year,” Landais added.
Through the new ibis Abu Dhabi Gate hotel, it aims to offer every guest in Abu Dhabi simple, straightforward service and treat their stay at ibis as a good ‘home’ base for both business and leisure travellers looking for an economy hotel offering all the major services at the best market value.
The 252-room hotel will offer well-designed and perfectly equipped standard rooms and 42 spacious one-bedroom apartments on the upper floors, which offer stunning views of the city. With opening rates starting from Dh224++ ($61), ibis Abu Dhabi Gate offers consistent quality accommodation and features facilities for individuals with special needs in addition to non-smoking rooms.
Accor currently has 10 existing Novotel hotels with 2,210 rooms in the region and under development are eight hotels with 1,986 rooms in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Jizan and Marsa Alam.
