THE long-awaited opening of the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa will take place at the end of the month and, in honour of its French parent company, the hotel’s first event will be the closing gala dinner as sponsor of the island’s French Week which takes place from February 23 to March 1.
The $150-million, five-star property will offer a total of 262 lavish sea view rooms, including 28 suites, alongside the GCC’s first thalassotherapy spa.
Guy Poujoulat, area general manager of the new property, said: “Sofitel Bahrain is the first and only hotel in the GCC to offer thalassa treatments, which use sea water and the marine climate for well being and remedial purposes. The spa spreads over an area of 2,000 sq m on two storeys, with separate men’s and ladies’ services.”
The first property on the island from Sofitel, the only French luxury hotel brand with a presence on all five continents, the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, aims to add a touch of French flair to the desert kingdom and will set out its impeccable French credentials at the gala dinner in the ballroom (pictured) which will feature an authentic French menu.
