Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island is inviting guests to take part in an interactive Chocolate Creation Experience at Dar Zellij, combining a hands-on culinary activity with charitable giving as part of the hotel group’s global Kilo of Kindness campaign.
Available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during
the campaign, the 60-minute experience will be led by the resort’s pastry chef
and team, who will guide participants through creating and personalising their
own chocolate bars with their favourite toppings.
Priced at AED100 ($27) per participant, the
experience includes Moroccan tea and coffee, a take-home chocolate creation and
a certificate of participation.
Fifteen per cent of the proceeds will be donated to
the resort’s charity partner, the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Charitable
Education Foundation.
Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance
through WhatsApp on +971 50 601 3537.
Guests can also support the initiative by donating
essential goods at participating Mövenpick properties.
The experience forms part of the 11th edition of
Kilo of Kindness, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ annual community initiative,
running from 26 October to 27 November 2026.
This year’s campaign brings together more than 90 Mövenpick hotels worldwide to collect essential items for local charities, including non-perishable food, school supplies, clothing and personal care products.
Global campaign expands community support
Since its launch in 2015, Kilo of Kindness has
collected more than 130,000kg of essential goods, bringing together hotel
teams, guests, local communities and charitable organisations.
The 2026 edition introduces a refreshed creative
identity and marks a broader evolution of the initiative, with participating
hotels encouraged to extend their community engagement throughout the year
through volunteering, fundraising and local partnerships.
The programme will also recognise a wider range of
contributions, including volunteer hours, funds raised, community activities
and charity partnerships, alongside the traditional measurement of donated
goods.
“Kindness is at the heart of Mövenpick, and Kilo of Kindness is a wonderful reflection of that spirit. Across the region, where giving, hospitality and caring for others are deeply rooted in our cultures, this initiative holds special meaning. Over the past 11 years, our hotels, Heartists®, guests and partners have come together to turn simple acts of generosity into meaningful support for their communities. What makes this year particularly special is that we're taking that spirit beyond a single moment in the year, creating more opportunities to give back through donations, volunteering and local partnerships. Because whether it's a kilo of essentials, an hour of someone's time or a helping hand, every act of kindness has the power to make a difference,” said Kerry Healy, Chief Commercial Officer for the Premium, Midscale & Economy Division, Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific at Accor.
Regional hotels join the initiative
Across the Middle East, Mövenpick properties are
partnering with charitable organisations to address local needs through
donation drives, fundraising and guest activities.
In the UAE, all 10 Mövenpick hotels and resorts are
participating. Alongside the chocolate-making experience at Mövenpick Resort Al
Marjan Island, Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai will organise
clothing donation drives in partnership with the Malabes Project by Beit Al
Khair Society and host a chocolate-making masterclass.
In Saudi Arabia, seven properties will participate,
with Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Hajar Tower Makkah working with the
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre to distribute food parcels and essential
supplies.
All five Mövenpick properties in Jordan will
organise donation drives, including Mövenpick Resort Petra, which will partner
with the Wadi Musa Orphan Association to collect clothing, food and educational
supplies for children and families in need.
In Egypt, seven properties will take part.
Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh will support vulnerable and bereaved families
through its partnership with the Lovers of the Prophet Association, with
proceeds from Kilo of Kindness T-shirt sales going directly to the
organisation.
The campaign will also mark World Kindness Day on
13 November, encouraging people to contribute through donations and other acts
of community support.
Inspired by Mövenpick founder Ueli Prager’s belief
in making the ordinary extraordinary, Kilo of Kindness aims to demonstrate how
small contributions can create meaningful change.
