IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with AR Infra Consultancy to develop Crowne Plaza Hyderabad Shamshabad Airport Road, a 250-key premium hotel scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2031.
The project will mark the Crowne Plaza brand’s entry into
Hyderabad and strengthen IHG’s presence in the Indian city.
Located adjacent to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and
the 3.5 million sq. ft. World Trade Centre, the hotel will cater to corporate
travellers, airport transit passengers, meetings and events, long-stay guests
and industrial-related demand.
Shamshabad is emerging as a major growth corridor, supported
by expanding commercial, industrial and infrastructure developments.
Hyderabad airport handled approximately 31 million
passengers in 2025, while the development of the World Trade Centre and
expansion of Aeronautical Park are expected to boost corporate travel demand.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels
& Resorts, said: “Shamshabad represents a compelling growth opportunity,
supported by its proximity to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and the
development of key commercial infrastructure, making it a strong fit for our
Crowne Plaza brand. With the potential to cater to growing corporate travel,
meetings and airport-related demand, we are confident the hotel will deliver
exceptional experiences for guests while generating long-term value for our
partners, AR Infra Consultancy. This signing further strengthens our presence
in Hyderabad and reflects our continued commitment to expanding our premium
portfolio across India.”
The hotel will feature 250 rooms, including 37 suites, five
food and beverage outlets and 1,170 sq. m. of meeting space across five venues,
including an 800 sq. m. ballroom.
Additional facilities will include a club lounge, swimming
pool, fitness centre, spa and parking.
P. Revanth Reddy of AR Infra Consultancy said the project
marks the company’s first venture into hospitality, building on its real estate
and infrastructure experience across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The signing complements IHG’s existing Hyderabad portfolio of two operational Holiday Inn Express hotels and an InterContinental property under development, supporting its strategy to expand its premium hotel brands across high-potential Indian markets. -TTN
