Munich Airport will offer flights to 182 destinations across 67 countries during its winter schedule, running from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027, with expanded long-haul services and additional connections to Northern Europe.

The schedule provides travellers with access to major international cities, sunny holiday destinations and Arctic regions popular for winter activities and Northern Lights viewing.

Two airlines will join the airport’s winter network. Fly2Galicia will operate twice-weekly flights to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the renowned destination of the Way of St. James.

Cyprus Airways will also introduce twice-weekly services to Larnaca from December 17, connecting Munich with the Cypriot coastal city known for its historic centre and Mediterranean climate.

Long-haul capacity increases

Several airlines are expanding services to key international destinations. Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways will increase flights to Singapore and Bangkok, respectively, from seven to 10 per week.

Lufthansa will raise its weekly frequencies to Mexico City, Johannesburg and São Paulo from three to five per destination. The airline will also introduce a second daily flight to Bangkok between January 16 and February 26, 2027. Combined with Thai Airways services, the route will offer up to four daily connections on certain weekdays.

Premium carrier beOnd will increase its Maldives services to four flights per week, with stopovers in Dubai or Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Airport.

Munich will also host the maiden flight of Lufthansa’s new Airbus A350-1000, named “Deutschland”. The aircraft, featuring a special anniversary livery, is scheduled to operate its first flight to Tokyo Haneda on December 3, followed by services to Shanghai and Singapore in subsequent weeks. Nine additional A350-1000 aircraft are expected to join Lufthansa’s Munich-based fleet gradually.

Growing demand for Northern Europe

Lufthansa is increasing flights to Tromsø, Norway’s Arctic capital, from two to four per week, responding to rising demand for northern destinations. Services to Kittilä in Finnish Lapland will increase from two to three weekly flights from February 1, 2027.

From December 4, Lufthansa will offer two weekly flights to Rovaniemi, alongside Norwegian. Discover Airlines will add a weekly service to Ivalo from early January 2027.

Several routes launched during the summer will continue through winter. Air Serbia will maintain daily flights to Belgrade, while Bluebird will operate three weekly services to Tel Aviv. Royal Jordanian Airlines will also retain three weekly flights to Amman.

The expanded schedule reinforces Munich Airport’s role as an international hub, offering travellers a broader choice of winter destinations and connections. -TTN
