Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has achieved an industry training milestone with its Tourism Partners Development Section registering its 1,000th course participant.
Dr Rafael Echevarne, head of business development (GCAS) Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies, who attended the ADTA-sponsored ‘critical success factors in tourism transport management’ course, was recognised with a gift and commemorative certificate presented by ADTA’s tourism standards director, Nasser Al Reyami.
“We launched our first training initiative in October 2009 and have successfully managed to provide training to 1,000 participants in less than six months,” said Al Reyami. “The progress we are making mirrors our commitment to assisting the industry in delivering exceptional service levels which we believe will be a key destination differentiator.”
The critical success course was facilitated by the University of Hawaii – one of the world’s leading tourism training institutions. It was aimed as helping ADTA’s transport stakeholders better understand the importance of an integrated tourism transport approach to the visitor experience.
The authority runs a variety of workshops, seminars, breakfast briefings and courses to hone stakeholders’ skills and ultimately enhance the visitor experience.
