Tourism Ireland showcased the Emerald Isle as a top destination for Gulf visitors at GIBTM promoting the country as both a first-class tourism and Mice destination.
Exhibiting on the same stand were Dublin Convention Bureau and Advantage ico providing advice and expertise on Mice travel to Ireland, while The Westin Dublin highlighted its facilities for the Arabic market, which include Arabic speaking staff and compasses and prayer mats as well as a dedicated prayer room on request.
These special touches have earned the historic luxury five-star hotel a growing customer base in the Gulf which has been reflected in visitor numbers over the last year, with corporate bookings by multinational companies operating in the Middle East and Ireland representing a significant segment in recent months.
Aiveen Ryan, Tourism Ireland, said: “Ireland has so much to offer tourists and business travellers alike, with first class conference facilities, excellent destination management solutions and thoughtful service from hotels such as The Westin Dublin. Visitors from the GCC are often stuck by our green country and the warm hospitality and, as we enter the summer months, businesses wishing to escape the heat of the Gulf can take advantage of the temperate climate of the Emerald Isle.”
