Six Continents hotel group has announced the appointment of Emma Tame as director of communications - Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In her new role, Tame will be responsible for raising the profile of Six Continents Hotels (SCH) in the region, communicating its aggressive acquisition and development plans and supporting corporate communication goals. She will also be responsible for reinvigorating each of the SCH brands within the EMEA region - Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Express by Holiday Inn - through brand focussed communication. Based at the group's EMEA headquarters in Windsor, she will report to Robin Wicks, senior vice president marketing, sales & reservations, EMEA. She replaces Dee Cayhill who has moved onto a corporate affairs role at Six Continents plc. Tame was previously director of marketing at Wyndham International Europe, where she worked for six years. More recently, she was consultant to hospitality group, Noble House Leisure Ltd and prior to this, director of sales and marketing at Hartford Restaurant Group plc. "Tame's combination of marketing expertise and communications skills, along with her wealth of industry experience, will provide enormous strength to our internal and external communications efforts and give our brands an even stronger focus," said Wicks. "This is especially important in today's tough climate where communication strategy is more important than ever."
